Jesuita Fire

By Arturo, Jordi and Marlene

In the Jesusita Fire more than 20 houses were burned , they lost count after 30 houses. No firefighters died, only 11 had major injuries . It took them 2 weeks to put out the fire . 30,500 people evacuated . They haven't found out who started it , they only know a human started it .

About 4,000 firefighters and support personnel from many departments were on the lines, aided by 14 air tankers and 15 helicopters.Santa Barbara and Tea Fire funds were able to raise enough money to have a very big impact in helping the town members afresh their lives.

United Way is here to work with the town colleagues to identify and render assistance for unmet needs of the affected families.

First , we brainstormed a topic . We went to the library to look up information in the computers . We went on the website www.ask.com and it gave us a lot of information .

  1. Arturo, Jordi, and Marlene - Great job! You found a lot of interesting information on the Jesusita fire! Do you remember when the fire was going? It was very scary! I had to be evacuated from my home in the middle of the night. Did any of you have to evacuate?
